Here’s everything you should know about who we are, how our research works, how your responses are used, and how we protect your privacy.
Who is Health Union?
In 2010, two former pharmaceutical marketing executives left their corporate jobs to establish Health Union, LLC in an effort to truly help people improve their health. Our founders understood the untapped potential to leverage technology in ways that would enable patients to learn, to connect, to share and to be heard in a much bigger way.
Health Union is a fast-paced, forward-thinking company. Our goal is to harness the full power of the internet and emerging technology to inspire people to live better with challenging health conditions. Our unique approach combines new daily, original content with digital, social, and mobile technologies to cultivate some of the most active, engaged, and fast-growing online communities across more than 125 conditions. Our desire to help people motivates us, and we continuously push ourselves to meet the needs of our ever-growing communities in new, innovative ways.

I received an invitation to participate in a survey via email. What is it? How will the data be used?
Health Union offers a variety of opportunities to participate in surveys and research opportunities, including paid market research studies, which seek valuable input from healthcare providers.
Health Union may also conduct direct market research surveys on behalf of sponsors and offer healthcare providers the opportunity to share their experiences, opinions, and feedback with the companies involved in healthcare. These research surveys are by invitation only (usually sent via email). Participation in any market research survey is completely optional, and respondents who qualify are compensated for their time. Please note: individual privacy is very important to us at Health Union and we never share the identity of any individual participant with sponsors of market research projects without specific permission to do so.
What else should I keep in mind about the market research studies Health Union conducts?
A few things to know before you participate:
- Surveys are sometimes sponsored by our business partners, who may use the information for research purposes and internal decision-making.
- Taking part in these studies is completely voluntary.
- The time commitment and honoraria for each project are specified up front and payment is delivered digitally via Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, instant debit transfer, and ACH, or a gift card to your preferred merchant.
- Your responses will only be shared in deidentified and aggregate form (e.g., 60% of people said that…). All necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of your personal data and your individual responses and contact information will NOT be provided to the sponsor.
- Participants must meet certain criteria to participate in some studies. There are typically a few brief questions at the start of a survey to determine eligibility.
- In some cases, our recruitment team may contact you to verify your responses; your responses will be considered complete upon this verification.
- Your responses may be analyzed using artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning tools to assist us in identifying patterns, trends, and insights relevant to the study in accordance with confidentiality protocols, privacy laws, and ethical standards.
I’m interested in additional opportunities to partner with Health Union (e.g., authoring content, clinical review, etc.). Who should I contact?
We are always looking for the right partnership opportunity with healthcare providers. These opportunities could include expertise sharing (partnering as a Key Opinion Leader or Digital Opinion leader to share professional insights and expertise), authoring content (writing or co-authoring educational materials such as articles, case studies, or white papers), clinical review (serving as a paid peer reviewer for our materials to ensure medical accuracy and relevance), and others.
