Health Union Recognized by Inc. 5000 for Third Consecutive Year As One of Nation’s Fastest Growing Companies

PHILADELPHIA – August 12, 2020 – For the third consecutive year, Health Union has been recognized by Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list, which represents the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Health Union ranked No. 1,379 overall.
With a three-year growth of 323%, Health Union ranks in the top one-third of companies on the list. When looking at specific categories, the company ranks:
- In the top 20% in the Philadelphia metro area
- In the top 24% in Pennsylvania
- In the top 25% among companies headquartered in the city of Philadelphia
- In the top 27% in the health category
This recognition reflects the ongoing impact of Health Union’s growing portfolio of online health communities as it celebrates its 10th anniversary since launching its first community, Migraine.com. By the end of 2020, Health Union will operate 30 condition-specific online communities that provide safe and supportive environments for people to learn, connect and share the experiences of living with chronic health concerns.

Inc. 5000 has recognized the fastest-growing private companies in America since 1982. According to Inc., the companies recognized by the 2020 Inc. 5000 achieved a three-year average growth of more than 500%, and a median rate of 165%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $209 billion in 2019, accounting for more than a million jobs over the past three years.

The list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating a minimum revenue of $100,000 by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent and have a minimum 2019 revenue of $2 million as of Dec. 31, 2019.
