Living With Lung Cancer: Jeffrey P

In preparation for November and Lung Cancer Awareness Month, I interviewed LungCancer.net advocate Jeffrey Poehlmann in late September. Sadly, just a few weeks later, he passed away due to complications from stage IV lung cancer. In this episode of Living With, Jeffrey talks about the importance of humor, the stigma of lung cancer, and the language we use to describe the disease.

I also created a Bonus episode from my conversation with Jeffrey, including how others can be supportive of the person with cancer and how cancer and its treatment can impact a person’s sense of self. Click here to listen to the bonus episode. Jeffrey was a dedicated advocate, and his presence in the LungCancer.net community is sorely missed.

Living With is a podcast featuring the people and stories behind Health Union. Advocates from different communities are interviewed, sharing how they have learned to cope with trying symptoms and treatments. Their courage and resilience are inspiring, offering wisdom that transcends dealing with health issues and gives insight on how best to deal with any kind of challenge.
